Domestic Violence Outreach Program

Christmas and Hanukkah are a time of joy and togetherness for many but not for all. there are many families in our community who are facing the reality of homelessness and poverty. There are many women and children who are homeless due to domestic violence.

Arts for Peace has teamed up with the Domestic Violence Women's shelter. We are looking for individuals, family groups or groups of co-workers who would like to adopt a family, or provide gifts to women and children who are recovering from poverty or from the trauma of domestic violence and adjusting, possibly, to a dramatic reduction of income and standard of living.

Adopt a family--
As a sponsor, you would select the size of the family you would like to adopt. The shelter will give you the family's wish list. Please call Kathy Morretti at 845-331-7080 ext 127 Tell her you want to adopt a family and she will give you the details on your family.

LAST MINUTE SPONSORSHIP
Because the Women's Shelter is a crisis organization, they never know who will be coming to them and when. For this reason, they have designed a list of items that they use to put together at the last minute for those families who arrive to the shelter late in the season or during the holidays.
